The bravest battle of Indian history: THE BATTLE OF CHAMKAUR

Can you imagine a war where 40 faced 1 million and can you think of its result. I am sure that u will suprise to know about this battle which was fought  between 10 lakhs Mughal fauj headed by Wazir Khan and merely 40 sikh headed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in the year 1704.

After the assassination of Guru Teg Bahadur by Aurangzeb and his men Guru Gobind Singh become the 10th and last Guru of Sikhism and founded a new Khalasa panth as a military group. After knowing about the rising power of Guru , Aurangzeb began to worry and he had earlier asked the Mughal faujdar to 'reprimand the Guru'.  Then after he ordered the subedars of sarhind and Lahore to help the local kings against Guru Gobind Singh. After which the Mughal army made frequent attack on Anandpur( the capital city) but the sikh fought bravely and thwart all the Mughal attack. Now the Mughals did another trick and surrounded the fort. When starvation spread inside the fort, Guru Govind Singh felt compelled to open the door of the fort upon receiving the promise of safe passage from Wazir Khan. But when Guru's army was crossing the river that came in a boom, Wazir Khan's army suddenly attacked. Due to which the people scattered and two of the Guru's son (Baba fateh singh and baba  joraver singh) had been caught by Mughal army. They were brought to Sirhind and forced to eccept Islam but they refused it and hence were mounted in the wall.

On the other side Guru Sahib with is 40 trusted man and his two elder sons reached to the fort of Chamkaur. Here again Mughal army had surrounded him with and army of almost 10 lakhs. There main target was the Guru Sahib as they want to catch him alive. The war started next day. Sikhs wanted to prolong this war. Hence at a time only five men come out to fight. When they laid another  five came out. And thus it's night now Sikh had played trick and fought the Mughal army among themselves and the Guru with his remaining men escaped from the fort.

The Mughal faced one of the biggest defeat ever. Almost all the Mughal soldiers were killed either by the Guru's army or by fighting between themselves. 33 sikh soldiers died in the war including the two elder son of Guru Sahib. Wazir Khan was latter killed by Banda Singh Bahadur.

This was the story of one of the greatest battle fought in the Indian history.
